Jaishankar-Lavrov Moscow talks: Navigating bilateral cooperation and global dynamics

India:  External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to hold negotiations with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Wednesday, December 27 as confirmed by Russian Embassy in India. ministers will focus on current and future areas of bilateral cooperation and will discuss schedule of upcoming contacts.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Russian Embassy in India wrote, "Russia's Deputy Prime Minister -- Minister of Industry and Tre Denis Manturov and Indian Minister of External Affairs @DrSJaishankar discussed development of tre and economic cooperation between & at exhibition forum "Russia" at #VDNH."

Jaishankar and Lavrov to meet today

  1. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held negotiations in Moscow on Wednesday.
  2. emphasis was on promoting furr building of sustainable transport, logistics, and banking and financial chains, along with expanding use of national currencies in mutual settlements
  3. Issues of cooperation in high-tech areas, including space and nuclear ones, as well as joint projects for development of hydrocarbons on Arctic shelf and in Russian Far East, were discussed.
  4. ministers compared notes on current international matters, including interaction within United Nations (UN), Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and G20.
  5. priorities of Russia's BRICS chairmanship in coming year were also discussed.
  6. An in-depth exchange of views occurred on issues of forming a fair security architecture in Asia-Pacific region, situation in Ukraine and Afghanistan, and Palestinian-Israeli confrontation.
  7. Moscow and New Delhi reaffirmed ir commitment to multipolarity, supporting political and economic sovereignty amid spre of neocolonial practices.
  8. On Tuesday, Jaishankar and Russia's Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Tre Denis Manturov discussed development of tre and economic cooperation between Russia and India.
  9. Topical issues of interaction in tre, investment, financial and banking, transport and logistics spheres, as well as areas of energy and food security, were dressed.
  10. An MoU was signed between Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnzor) of Russia and Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation of India.
  11. Earlier on Monday, Jaishankar met with leing representatives of Russian strategic community, discussing connectivity, multilateralism, big power competition, and regional conflicts.
  12. y spoke about importance of rebalancing and emergence of multipolarity.
  13. Jaishankar's four-day visit to Russia took place from December 25-29.
