Chicago: Following the ‘assassination attempt’ on presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, his aides and associates condemned the attack and are pointing to President Joe Biden as a 'factor' in the attack.

Following the incident, president Biden said, “I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”

However, slamming Biden, JD Vance, a potential running mate of Trump, took to X and condemned the attack on the former President and blamed President Joe Biden's "rhetoric" behind the attack. Vance claimed that Biden's words have created a toxic political climate that led to the 'attempted assassination' of the former POTUS.

According to Vance, the Biden campaign's portrayed Donald Trump as a 'authoritarian fascist' who must be stopped at all costs has led to a harmful narrative that may have allegedly incited the attack.

"Today is not just some isolated incident. The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump's attempted assassination,' the post read.

'Toxic National Climate': Vivek Condemns Attack on Trump

Furthermore, Vivek Ramaswamy, an Indian American entrepreneur, condemned the attack on Donald Trump as "unacceptable" and urged national unity. Ramaswamy criticised the escalation of violence, saying that President Biden's condemnation of the attack would be insufficient and irrelevant unless accompanied by concrete actions to address the underlying climate of hostility.

"First they sued him. Then they prosecuted him. Then they tried to take him off the ballot. The only thing more tragic than what just happened is that, if we’re being honest, it wasn’t totally a shock. Biden’s inevitable ritual condemnation of political violence today (when it comes) will be insufficient and irrelevant. No amount of verbiage today changes the toxic national climate that led to this tragedy," the post read on X.

"Apoorva and I mourn for the rally attendee who was apparently killed by the shooter. We believe the fact that President Trump is safe right now is nothing short of an act of God. My heart tells me God intervened not just for Trump, but for our nation. Today, the future survival of the United States of America came down to less than a hair’s width in the path of a bullet," it added.

Despite the chaotic situation, Trump showed defiance by pumping his fists and yelling 'fight'. Meanwhile, Mike Collins, a US Representative from Georgia, has called for charges to be filed against President Joe Biden, alleging incitement of an assassination. Collins made this statement on social media, urging the Republican District Attorney in Butler County, PA, to take action.

Trump was shot during the presidential campaign in Butler, Pennsylvania from outside the event.

According to reports, a bullet pierced Trump's ear, suggesting the shooter was targeting his head. The Secret Service instantly neutralized the shooter, preventing further harm.

Unfortunately, the incident resulted in one death of a rally attendee and two individuals sustaining serious injuries.
