Iran's Defense Minister, Amir Hatami said on October 24 that the threats of a military attack by the President of United States, Donald Trump are nothing but “bluff”. The minister feels that the threats to start an offensive in Iran is just a "bluff to cover their chagrin" for their failed policies. Reportedly, on October 21, President Trump threatened Iran of retaliatory action by the US if Iran does something.
Iran warns the US
The Iranian Minister had warned Washington against making a mistake of taking measures against Iran. Hatami added that Iran's retaliation will make the US “more ashamed” than the previous measures which have brought humiliation to the country in the previous years, in case the US does make a response. He reportedly made a threat that the US will only invite a “crushing response” from the Iranian forces who stand fully ready to protect the nation along with Iran's borders if President Trump makes any excessive demands or continue with his threats.
Qatar denies the possibility of war
During the Global Security Forum in Doha foreign minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah said that he does not see a war between the US and Iran. According to him, both countries are not interested in a war. Tensions have escalated in the Gulf in recent months with a series of drone attacks on oil refineries which have raised fears of a war between the arch-rivals. Two Saudi oil facilities were attacked by drones last month and Houthi rebels claimed the attacks. However, the US claims that Iran was behind the attack and backed the Houthi rebels President Trump further charged that the rebels did not have the range or sophistication to target the facilities. Tehran had refused the involvement with the Houthi rebels and warned of a total war if anyone attempts to attack its territory.
