Iran said Tuesday that it welcomes steps by the United States to ease tensions, adding that it considers Washington to be on a "constructive path."Government spokesman Ali Rabiei was responding to the Biden administration's decision to reverse former President Donald Trump's efforts to restore UN sanctions on Tehran.
"While we welcome these late measures, and while we consider this as putting America on a constructive path, we see them as extremely insufficient," Rabiei said.
Trump pulled the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal in 2018, accusing Iran of serious violations. Biden has said the US wants to rejoin the pact.
Rabiei added that Iran has installed 492 IR-2m centrifuges at its nuclear sites in Natanz and Fordo, and is currently in the process of doubling that number.
