Reports by unnamed US officials suggest that Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei approved attack on Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure on September 14.

Reports suggest that Iran's supreme leer Ayatollah Ali Khamenei approved attack on Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure on September 14. An anymous US official gave information while speaking to a news ncy. report stated that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is behind attack and he gave his approval for it if it's carried out in a way so that claims of involvement of Iran are easily rejected. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while flying to Saudi Arabia spoke on matter calling it an 'act of war'. Mike Pompeo met crown prince of Saudi Arabia on September 18.

Unnamed officials reveal details

unnamed US officials said that 'most damning evidence' present against Iranians is unreleased satellite ims that show Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps preparing for strike at Ahvaz airbase of Iran. He ded that it was later that y released significance of those pictures. ncy quoted US official saying, "We were caught completely off guard,". US and Saudi Arabia officials believe that re is an Iranian involvement in attack. Saudi too earlier said that y kw who sponsored attack as strike came from rth direction where Iran is. Saudi also said y are investigating matter properly to kw exact location of launchp.

Tensions between US and Iran

local media of Iran said that Tehran wrote to Washington with help of Swiss embassy on September 16 where it denied any involvement in strike. It also warned that it would react if re is any action taken against it. Yemen's Huthi rebels supported by Tehran took responsibility for attacks which was denied by Riyh and Washington. A US official while speaking to a news ncy said that US ministration came to a conclusion that attack involved missiles that came from Iran and y will present evidence in UN General Assembly. US Vice President while repeating what US President Donald Trump said, "we don't want war with anybody, but United States is prepared." President Trump in 2018, backed off from a hard-won deal between Tehran and international powers which led to a freeze in Iran's nuclear program in return of lifting of sanctions. Washington again imposed crippling ecomic penalties that included Iran's vital oil sector and Tehran backing off from deal.
