Israel expands massive vaccination across country
Israel on Monday said that medical staff have vaccinated more than 1.3 million people against COVID-19, more than a tenth of its population.

With a vaccination compound in Tel Aviv and a drive-through vaccine center in the northern City of Haifa, the country is rolling out one of the world's earliest and most rapid inoculation campaigns.

Former coronavirus czar and head of Ichilov hospital Dr. Ronni Gamzu says that 5 to 7,000 people can be vaccinated a day in the huge compound put in place by the Tel Aviv municipality and Ichilov hospital.According to Our World in Data, a collaboration between researchers at the University of Oxford and the non-profit group Global Change Data Lab, Israel is leading the world in per capita vaccinations.
Meanwhile in Haifa, Maccabi HMO opened a drive-through vaccination compound with 20 lanes for vehicles and 8 walk-in stations.Dr. Galit Kaufman, head of the Northern District of Maccabi Health Care Service says that more than 2,000 patients can be vaccinated in this compound in a very secure way from inside their car.

Israel is currently in its third nationwide lockdown in response to surge in coronavirus cases.
It has reported more than 442,000 cases and at least 3,433 deaths since the pandemic began.
