'Should Not Make Mistake of...': US Warns Iran to Not Hit Back Post Israeli Revenge Strikes

Reiterating unwavering commitment to defend Israel, Lloyd J. Austin III said the US will support the Jewish state's right in defending itself.

New Delhi: A day after Israeli airstrikes pounded Iran, attacking its "military targets" and leaving four soldiers de, United States on Sunday, October 27, warned Tehran against making "mistake of responding" to bombardment.

Taking to X, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III wrote, "I spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant today to discuss Israel Defense Forces' overnight precision strikes on military targets in Iran. I reaffirmed United States’ ironcl commitment to Israel’s security and support for Israel's right to defend itself."

Reiterating unwavering commitment to defend Israel, Lloyd J. Austin III said US will support Jewish state's right in defending itself.  

'Iran Should Not Make Mistake of Responding...'

"I emphasized that United States is well postured to defend U.S. forces and facilities across region and me clear that Iran should not make mistake of responding to Israel’s strikes, which should mark end of this exchange," he ded.

Austin also called for peace in region by engaging dialogue and diplomacy. He urged all parties involved in Middle East crisis to step forward towards de-escalating conflict with hostage release & ceasefire deals in Gaza and by offering a safe enviroment for return of civilains to ir homes on Israel-Lebanon border.

"I also underscored opportunities that exist for to use diplomacy to dial down tensions in region, including with a hostage release and ceasefire deal in Gaza and an agreement that allows civilians on both sides of Israel-Lebanon border to return safely to ir homes," he furr wrote.

Tensions Sore in West Asia

tensions in West Asia continued to sore on Saturday, October 26, with Israel launching operation 'Days of Repentance' to retaliate a massive missile barrage on Jewish state on October 1. Later in day, IDF announced conclusion of airstrikes on social media platform X.

“I can now confirm that we have concluded Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to State of Israel,” said IDF Spokesperson Rm. Daniel Hagari on a video message posted on X.

Meanwhile, Iran's military said early Saturday that Israeli assault on country targeted military bases in Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces, causing “limited damage.”

statement from Iran's armed forces was re aloud on state television, which showed no images of damage described. Iran's military claimed its air defences limited damage done by strikes, without providing ditional evidence.

recent Israeli attack on Iran comes weeks after Tehran launched a massive missile barrage on Jewish state October 1, most of which were shot down by Israeli air defenses with help of US forces. That attack was in retaliation to a series of Israeli attacks against Iran’s Lebanese proxy Hezbollah, killing its leer Hassan Nasrallah in an airstrike and n sending troops across border into sourn Lebanon. Israel has also battered Lebanon with aerial strikes which it says are aimed at dismantling Hezbollah, but which have claimed thousands of lives.
