Israel PM avoids picking US winner, praises Trump

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that bipartisan support for Israel is "one of the foundations of the American-Israeli alliance" but avoided saying whom he hopes will win the upcoming US presidential race.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that bipartisan support for Israel is "one of foundations of American-Israeli alliance" but avoided saying whom he hopes will win upcoming US presidential race.

At same time, Netanyahu heaped praise on US President Donald Trump for isolating Iran, and a number of measures seen as favouring Israel.

In his term in office, Trump has recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital and moved American embassy re and recognized Israeli sovereignty over Golan Heights.

Recently, US brokered diplomatic pacts between Israel and United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.

"After t having a new peace agreement with an Arab state for 26 years, we've h three peace agreements in six weeks," he ded.
