Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu extends wishes on Diwali

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel shared his warm regards on Diwali for PM Modi and Indians. He tweeted an image of him and PM Modi shaking hands when the former had arrived in India this year. Netanyahu has often greeted PM Modi and Indians on various festive occasions. He had also congratulated PM Modi in his election victory in May. The gesture has been reciprocal on festive Jewish occasions by PM Modi.

UK PM Johnson wishes Happy Diwali

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party Boris Johnson on Sunday extended his wishes on the occasion of Diwali. Taking to Twitter, Johnson posted a video with the caption 'Shubh Diwali' (Happy Diwali), wishing citizens celebrating the festival of lights. In the video, Johnson said, "...Wishing everybody very Happy Diwali. The lights are on in Leicester's Golden Mile, the samosas and sweet treats are being handed out and people are taking in all wonderful sights, smells and sounds that make this festival so luminous and exciting..." He went on to say, "Running through the occasion is the central message of good over evil, hope over despair, knowledge over ignorance, an uplifting message that I believe we can all take to our hearts. And with the autumnal nights growing ever longer and darker across Britain, this spectacular festival usher in a new mood and a new spirit of optimism and joy… this really is a festival that can bring all of us together.”

Australian PM Morrison wishes Happy Diwali

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison extended his wishes on Diwali in a video posted on his twitter handle. The PM said that he loves Diwali because it celebrates the "values and beliefs we all share". He shared glimpses of his interaction with Indian community members in Australia and said that the country is the most successful multicultural society.

US President Donal Trump lights Diwali lamp

President of the United States Donald Trump extended his Diwali wishes to the Indians on Sunday. Taking to Twitter, he said that he along with First Lady of the United States Melania Trump is sending their best wishes to those celebrating the festival of lights. He also posted a video of him lighting diyas at the White House along with a group of Indian-Americans.
