A Palestinian motorist slammed his car into a group of soldiers in Jerusalem early on Thursday, wounding 12 before fleeing, an Israeli police spokesman said.
In the West Bank, a 19-year-old Palestinian was killed in clashes with Israeli troops, according to Palestinian hospital officials.
An official said one of the 12 injured in Jerusalem was seriously hurt, the others were lightly injured.
"We found that vehicle, and a manhunt is taking place for that terrorist that is still not found" said Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.
The uptick in violence comes just days after US President Donald Trump unveiled his long awaited Middle East peace plan, which is seen to greatly favour Israel and has been rejected by Palestinians.
The plan has sparked calls by Israeli nationalists for Israel to annex parts of the West Bank and has set off tensions in the region.
