"In Europe, we launched a 750 billion euro joint plan – what we called Next Generation EU. One of its objectives is to support environmental transition in Europe and make EU carbon neutral by 2050. Around 10% of it, roughly 70 billion euros, will go for investment in green infrastructures, circular economy and sustainable mobility in Italy only."

Italy holds Presidency of G20 this year, and safeguard of our planet is one of main objectives of our programme. G20 countries account for 75% of global emissions. We have a special responsibility in ensuring we deliver on objectives of Paris Agreement."

STORYLINE
Italy's prime minister said on Thursday that thanks to US President Joe Biden's new multilateral approach to climate change, that challenge could be won.
"Now we are confident that toger we will win this challenge," Mario Draghi said speaking via videoconference during a world leers climate summit.
Draghi said that world needs to "reverse course soon if nations want to deliver on objective of Paris agreement."
Italy's premier said European Union's 750 billion euros fiscal plan designed to help Europe recover from pandemic will support environmental transition and make EU carbon-neutral by 2050.
Around 10% of plan's budget, Draghi said, "roughly 70 billion euros, will go in investment in green infrastructure, circular economy and sustainable mobility in Italy only."

He pledged to take safeguard of planet as one of main objectives of Italy's programme during its 2021 G20 Presidency.
President Joe Biden convened leers of world's most powerful countries on Thursday to try to spur global efforts against climate change, drawing commitments from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vlimir Putin to cooperate on cutting emissions despite ir own sharp rivalries with United States.
Biden ministration’s pledge would require by far most ambitious U.S. climate effort ever, nearly doubling reductions that Obama ministration h committed to in landmark 2015 Paris climate accord.
