Japan Earthquake: Did Nostradamus' Prediction Come True?

Japan earthquake latest news today:  While the world ushered in the New Year 2024, Japan woke up with a 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Monday, January 1, 2024. The seismic event which triggered immediate concerns, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning, reminded people of the prediction by French astrologer Michel de Nostradame aka Nostradamus.   

Did Nostradamus' Prediction Come True?

Nostradamus, the renowned astrologer who lived in the 16th century, eerily predicted an earthquake off the coast of Japan in 2024.  Nostradamus, credited with prophetic insights into various historical events like Hitler's rise and the 9/11 attacks, allegedly made 942 predictions in the form of four-line verses known as quadrants. 

Reportedly, one of these predictions suggests a "cataclysmic earthquake" striking off the Japanese coast in 2024. Notably, interpretations of Nostradamus's writings often vary, and scepticism surrounds the accuracy of these predictions.

Meanwhile, Japan issued tsunami alerts Monday after a series of strong quakes in the Sea of Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency reported quakes off the coast of Ishikawa and nearby prefectures shortly after 4 p.m., one of them with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6.

It issued a major tsunami warning for Ishikawa and lower-level tsunami warnings or advisories for the rest of the western coast of the island of Honshu.

Japanese public broadcaster NHK TV warned torrents of water could reach as high as 5 meters (16.5 feet) and urged people to flee to high land or the top of a nearby building as quickly as possible.
