Joke on Rajinikanth:
In trailer of movie unveiled recently, Jayam Ravi plays character of a man waking up after 16 years in coma. In last scene in trailer, he refuses to believe that it is 2016, when he is shown Rajinikanth’s speech on TV, where ‘Petta’ star is saying that he will enter politics. character says that it is 1996, a reference to how Superstar h caused Jayalalitha’s defeat in 1996 Tamil Nu elections with his statements.
As per reports, Murali Appas, who is Public Relations representative for Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Needhi Maiam, said that actor immediately called producer. He told producer that he couldn’t see joke on Rajikanth’s political foray, while asking it was out of friendship or voice of justice.

producer of movie, Ishari K Ganesh, confirmed that Kamal Haasan was t happy about scene. producer promised veteran actor-politician that he will remove scene if it h upset him.

Ganesh also stated that he has asked director Preep Ranganathan to make required changes. director stated that he will convert it into a scene that Rajinikanth fans will enjoy.

Jayam Ravi releases statement:
Jayam Ravi also released a statement over row, stating that he has always tried to maintain a clean im, but scene h unfortunately upset Thalaivar fans. He said scene was meant in a positive light and that being a fan himself, he couldn’t think of disrespecting veteran.
Jayam Ravi stated Rajinikanth himself h seen it and appreciated it for creative appeal and unique idea. However, due to negative comments, y have decided to do away with scene.
