Kato: AUKUS alliance important for peace, security
Japan said Thursday the formation of a new Indo-Pacific security alliance between the U.S. Britain and Australia was an "important" act of international cooperation.

Japan was keen to cooperate with allies and like-minded nations to realize a free and open Indo-Pacific, Kato continued.
U.S. President Joe Biden made Wednesday's anuncement alongside British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who joined him by video to unveil new alliance, which will be called AUKUS.
