Toronto: On Sunday, Hindu devotees were attacked in Canada's Brampton by a group of people allegedly Khalistani supporters. A video of same went viral on social media, where a group of men can be seen thrashing people with a stick outside Hindu Sabha Mandir.

Following this incident, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau strongly condemned attack on Hindu Sabha Temple, emphasised on importance of religious freedom and asserted that every citizen has a right to practice ir faith "freely and safely."

" acts of violence at Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today are unacceptable. Every Canadian has right to practice ir faith freely and safely," Trudeau said in a post on X.

"Thank you to Peel Regional Police for swiftly responding to protect community and investigate this incident," he added.

Trudeau has been under extreme pressure from Khalistan following assassination of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. 

'Red Line Crossed': Canadian MP Chandra Arya Reacts on Attack

Canadian Member of Parliament Chandra Arya condemned attack on temple and said that a "red line has been crossed" by Khalistani extremists in country.

Taking to X, Arya wrote, "A red line has been crossed by Canadian Khalistani extremists today. attack by Khalistanis on Hindu-Canadian devotees inside premises of Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton shows how deep and brazen has Khalistani violent extremism has become in Canada. I begin to feel that re is a small grain of truth in reports that in addition to Canadian political apparatus, Khalistanis have effectively infiltrated into our law enforcement ncies."

“ wonder that under 'freedom of expression' Khalistani extremists are getting a free pass in Canada. As I have been saying for long, Hindu-Canadians, for security and safety of our community, need to step up and assert ir rights and hold politicians accountable,” he furr said in post.

'I Will Unite Our People and End Chaos': Oppn Leader Pierre Poilievre Condemns Attack

Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre also condemned attack saying, "Completely unacceptable to see violence targeting worshippers at Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today." He furr wrote that he will  unite our people and end chaos."

recent attacks add a string to similar incidents documented in recent years, with India and Canada's relations deteriorating after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cited "credible allegations" against Indian government nts — including Verma and or diplomats — were linked to death of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Indian High Commission in Canada Condemns 'Violent Disruption' Outside Consular Camp

Indian High Commission in Canada strongly condemned attack outside consular camp saying, "It is deeply disappointing to see such disruptions being allowed for routine consular work" and raised concerns over safety of Indian nationals in country.

Indian High Commission in press release expressed disappointment saying, “It is deeply disappointing to see such disruptions being allowed for routine consular work being organized by our Consulates with fullest cooperation of local co-organizers.”

It furr raised concerns for " safety of applicants, including Indian nationals, on whose demand such events are organized in first place."
