The sudden demise of South Indian star Sathar has sent shockwaves throughout the nation. Sathar was 67-years-old and had made his name in the South film industry for portraying negative and villainous roles. Sathar was suffering through long-term liver disease and was unwell for the past three months. He has acted in more than 300 films, the majority of which are in Malayalam. He had been on a brief hiatus for some time and returned to the cinema in 2012. The last movie he acted on was Parayan Bakivecha in 2014. Sathar is survived by his son - Unni Krishnan Sathar (Krish J Sathar) and Jayabharathi.

Son, wife mourn the actor's loss

It was reported that Krish, along with his mother had been taking care of his ailing father in his last days. Sathar and Jayabharathi got married in 1979 and parted ways in 1987. However, she couldn’t control her tears as she saw Sathar for the very last time. Krish, who resides in the United Kingdom and is an entrepreneur and actor by profession also flew in to Kochi with his mother for the funeral and last rituals of his father. Krish tried to console his grieving mother as they saw the legendary actor one last time. He kissed his father's forehead before the body was taken for the funeral.

As both his parents are actors, Krish was offered many acting roles over the years. However, he chose ace director Siddique as his debut producer and acted in Ladies and Gentlemen. He also acted in the Tamil remake of his father’s Malayalam movie 22 Female Kottayam. He has received awards like Aisavision award for best debut actor in 2013.

As a tribute to his father, Krish posted a collage of the late actor on his social media. In the post, he mentions that his father was his hero. The emotional post brought tears in the eyes of many. Netizens sent their regards and condolences to the grieving family. Many wrote about how the great actor will always be remembered for his work and his contribution to his art.
