Latin American countries continue to put measures into place to attempt to slow the advancement of the new coronavirus, with some closing schools and borders.

Latin American countries continue to put measures into place to attempt to slow vancement of new coronavirus, with some closing schools and borders.

Argentina, which has reported 56 cases of new coronavirus, remains with land borders and schools closed on Monday. national parks are also closed.

Chile anunced it decided to close all its borders after cases of coronavirus doubled from 75 to 156 in less than 24 hours.

re is also a home quarantine of 14 days required for Chilean nationals who are returning from risk areas, such as Italy, Spain, Iran and China.

Meanwhile in Colombia, President Ivan Duque anunced that schools would be closed starting on Monday.

"Children and young people in public and private education institutions and schools will t have in-person classes and (are to) remain at home in preventive isolation," he said on Sunday.
