Lebanon sends regional S.O.S to tackle vehement forest fire outbreak
After wildfires spread in parts of Lebanon on October 15, it has now turned to its neighbors to ask for help in battling them. Cyprus & Greece came forward

After wildfires spre in parts of Leban on October 15, country has w turned to its neighbors to ask for help in battling blaze which also killed a volunteer firefighter in country. raging fires h forced some residents to vacate ir homes in middle of night, while most people were also inside ir houses when flames reached vills south of Beirut. Prime Minister of Leban, Sa Hariri, told a national news ncy that y have contacted Europeans to send means of help.

Blazes in Leban
heatwave in region combined with strong winds has intensified fires which began on October 14 mostly in pine forests around Mediterranean country along with three provinces in Syria. However, re are still reports on how many casualties fire has caused. dense smoke has been seen drifting, especially over outskirts of Beirut, mountains in Chouf region and sourn city of Saida. It was in Chouf where volunteer firefighter lost his life while trying to put out blazes. Or firefighters have been tackling fires for last two days.

Greece and Cyprus help Leban
According to Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Raya El-Hassan said that Cyprus and Greece have alrey responded to Leban's call for help. Moreover, Cypriot helicopters have been working to put out fires since yesterday. In dition to that, Greece has also agreed to send two more planes for help, and along with that, Jordan king has ordered country's army to send two firefighting planes, which will be dispatched from Leban. According to a news ncy, army is working in tandem with helicopters and Cypriot planes to put an end to fires. However, Lebanese people have criticised government on social media for its inability to respond swiftly.
