'Like Hitler, You Will Be Stopped Sooner or Later': Turkey's Erdogan Warns Netanyahu Over Ground Ops
Erdogan strongly condemned Israel's military offensive in Lebanon, calling on the United Nations and other bodies to act swiftly to halt Tel Aviv's actions
Tel Aviv: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned Israel's military offensive in Lebanon on Tuesday, calling on the United Nations and other international bodies to act swiftly to halt Tel Aviv's actions without further delay.
"Israel will be stopped sooner or later, no matter what it does," Erdogan asserted.
Israeli officials announced on Monday that their troops had initiated ground operations in Lebanon, with clashes between the forces of both sides continuing into Tuesday.
Speaking during the opening session of the Turkish Parliament, Erdogan warned that Israel's leadership, driven by "the delirium of the promised land and religious fanaticism," might set its sights on Turkey after Palestine and Lebanon.
"Israel's aggression also extends to Turkey. We will oppose this state terrorism with all the means at our disposal, to protect our country, our nation, and our independence," Erdogan was quoted as saying by a Turkish media outlet.
He further condemned the Israeli government for pursuing "expansionist policies" that, he warned, could eventually pose a threat to Türkiye's territorial integrity.
In fact, Erdogan compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with Nazi Germany's Adolf Hitler, saying, "Just as Hitler, who saw himself in a giant mirror, was stopped, Netanyahu will be stopped in the same way."
Earlier, Erdogan had emphasised that the UN General Assembly should recommend the use of force, according to a 1950 resolution, if the UN Security Council fails to stop Israel's offensive in Gaza and Lebanon.
