'Amazon interfering in Election': Lindsey Graham's Stern Warning After Alexa's Pro-Harris Bias
Lindsey Graham has issued a strong rebuke to Amazon following revelations that the company’s Alexa, is exhibiting political bias in favored Kamala Harris
Washington: U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has issued a strong rebuke to Amazon following revelations that the company’s AI virtual assistant, Alexa, is exhibiting political bias in favored Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris over Republican nominee Donald Trump .
In a letter to Amazon CEO Andrew Jassy, Graham, who is a ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, warned that he would not let this issue slide and demanded action.
When Fox News inquired Amazon 's virtual assistant about reasons to vote for Trump, to which Alexa responded, "I cannot promote content that supports a certain political party or a specific politician." The assistant added further that, "I do not have the ability to provide information regarding the policies of the U.S. government. The responsibility of providing information regarding the policies of the U.S. government lies with the government itself."
However, when asked why someone should vote for Harris, Alexa stated, "While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field." It continued, "Additionally, her experience as a prosecutor and her record of accomplishment in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate."
The discrepancy in Alexa’s responses sparked a flurry of debate on social media, highlighting the perceived political bias in the AI’s responses.
