Madagascar Defence Minister sings Bollywood song 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'
Defence Minister of Madagascar General Leon Jean Richard Rakotonirina surprised the gathering at a community reception by singing the famous Bollywood song

Defence Minister of Magascar, General Leon Jean Richard Rakotonirina, on Friday, surprised garing at a community reception hosted onboard four Indian Navy ships in Antsiranana after he sang popular Bollywood song 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. As per a report by news ncy ANI, Defence Minister sang Bollywood song in a bid to connect with Indian community in Magascar's Antananarivo during occasion.
Indian community present at reception consisted mostly of Gujaratis. He sang Bollywood song, from Shah Rukh Khan's film, following his speech to garing. On occasion, trainees of Indian Navy also showcased various dance performances.

Defence cooperation between India & Magascar
On Friday (local time), Defence Minister of Magascar visited four Indian naval ships in rrn port city of Antsiranana. During his visit, he held talks in a bid to intensify defence cooperation between two countries. Indian Navy's First Training Squron ships - Indian Naval Ships Tir, Sujata and Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarathi - arrives in Magascar for a three-day visit on October 1, as a part of Indian Navy's Overseas Deployment. A defence cooperation agreement was signed between India and Magascar in March 2018 during President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to island nation.
Indian Ambassor to Magascar Abhay Kumar spoke at occasion, praising Defence Minister Richard Rakotonirina's dynamic leership in deepening defence ties between India and Magascar. He also reiterated that PM Modi's vision of Security And Growth for All in Indian Ocean Region (SAGAR) and Magascar President Andry Rajoelina's plan of Emergence of Magascar complement each or and two countries can work toger to fulfil vision.

Magascar issues postal stamps dedicated to Gandhi
On occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Magascar issued a postal stamp with picture of Mahatma Gandhi. With a table diaspora of Indian community, East African island country has a lot of Gujarati speaking people residing re. major cities of country celebrate Indian festivals with full enthusiasm. Magascar issued a postal stamp on Gandhi in year 1998 as well.
