Mani Ratnam's Office In Chennai Receives A Hoax Bomb Threat Over A Dialogue In 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'?

Mani Ratnam's 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' which has impressed audiences has also managed to stir up a controversy. Reportedly, filmmaker Mani Ratnam's office in Chennai received a bomb threat on Tuesday, October 2. According to reports, the caller demanded a particular dialogue be removed from the film.

Mani Ratnam's 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' which has impressed audiences has also managed to stir up a controversy. Reportedly, filmmaker Mani Ratnam's office in Chennai received a bomb threat on Tuesday, October 2. According to reports, the caller demanded a particular dialogue be removed from the film. However, there is no official confirmation of the incident.

As per reports, a dialogue from the 'Guru' director's latest film 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' seems to have irked the caller. Reports also suggest that the police were informed immediately after the call was made and that the police were investigating the matter.  According to reports, the filmmaker lodged a police complaint on Tuesday, October 2, about a hoax bomb threat which was received over a call at his office in Abiramapuram in Chennai. 

'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' hit the theatres on Thursday, September 27 and has an ensemble star cast including Prakash Raj, Arvind Swamy, Arun Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Jyotika, Jayasudha, Aditi Rao Hyadri and Aishwarya Rajesh in pivotal roles.

The film seems to be a commercial hit as Mani Ratnam spurs his magic onscreen once again. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film seems to be banking in exceptional with regards to international markets. Taran Adarsh tweeted about the same and said, "#Tamil film #ChekkaChivanthaVaanam is SUPER-STRONG in key international markets... While the film is putting up EXCEPTIONAL numbers in USA [data later] - its giving a tough fight to its competitors - the film is faring very well in Australia, UK and New Zealand too... contd..."

In another tweet, Adarsh mentioned the amount that the film managed to earn on the first day of its release. In his tweet, he said, "#Tamil film #ChekkaChivanthaVaanam - Total till Saturday [29 September 2018]… Australia: A$ 170,682 [₹ 88.07 lakhs] UK: £ 63,895 [₹ 60.40 lakhs] New Zealand: NZ$ 54,411 [₹ 26.12 lakhs] EXCELLENT! @comScore".
