Martin Sheen delivered a fiery speech at Fire Drill Fridays event held at Capitol Hill, Washington DC. Praising Jane Fonda, Sheen said, “This woman has been one of my heroes, nearly in all of my ult life. And clearly world will be saved by women." 

"Thank God that y outnumber us men," he ded.

He n narrated a story: 

" Irish tell this story of man who arrived at gates of heaven and asked to be let in. 'Of course. Show us your scars.'  man says, 'I have scars.'

Sheen n continued, "We are called to find something in our life worth fighting for, something that unites will of spirit with work of flesh, something that can help lift up this nation and all its people to that place." 

He n recites Tagore's poem that goes like this:

and he is held high, 
where kwledge is free. 
Where world has t been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls. 
Where words come out from depth of truth, 
where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection. 
Where clear stream of reason has t lost its way 
into dreary desert sand of de habit. 
Where mind is led forward by e 
into ever widening thought and action. 
In to that heaven of freedom, my far, 
Let my country awake!"

Ali Fazal and or many stars were among netizens who reacted with delight to speech. He shared video in his Twitter account and urged his fans to watch till last line. He was awed by combination of ‘famous words’ and Martin Sheen, something he felt guaranteed ‘goosebumps’.

Meanwhile, Martin Sheen and Joker star Joaquin Phoenix were among those arrested for participating in protest. y climbed Capitol Hill steps and were held for t following police orders to disperse.
