Mass graves dug in Manaus amid pandemic
According to a City Hall statement, the number of burials has more than doubled in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida public cemetery over the past few days.

Manaus is also only city in state with intensive care units, most of which are already busy.

Last week a video published by local media and posted online, showed bodies in plastic bags next to patients inside hospital Joao Lucio where in 36 hours, 19 people died of Covid-19. Some of bodies were removed and put in cold containers that remain parked outside hospital.
