'Another Reminder of Gun Violence…': Mass Shooting At Georgia School Leaves 4 Dead, 9 Injured
A gunman carried out a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia, resulting in four fatalities and nine injuries, as per reports.
Atlanta: A gunman launched a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia, resulting in four deaths and nine injuries, according to reports.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the school promptly after receiving reports of an active shooter at around 10:23 AM.
One suspect is now in custody, the Sheriff’s Office stated. Shortly before 10:30 AM, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies and Fire, medical personnel were sent to the high school in response to the shooting.
The suspect is a student of the same school who is 14-years-old, and was immediately surrendered after being confronted by school resource officers, said Chris Hosey, the director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The teen will be prosecuted as an adult, he added further.
Helicopter video from WSB-TV showed dozens of law enforcement and emergency vehicles surrounding Apalachee High School in Barrow County, about 50 miles (80 Km) northeast of Atlanta.

Republican Presidential Nominee and Former President Donald Trump condemned the shooter as a "sick and deranged monster." He expressed condolences, stating, "Our hearts are with the victims and their families affected by this tragic incident in Winder. These cherished children were taken from us far too soon by a sick and deranged monster."
'Gun Violence Tearing Communities Apart…": Biden
President Joe Biden has been informed about the active shooting in the Georgia school by his Homeland Security adviser, Liz Sherwood-Randall.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said on the Georgia mass shooting that, “the tragic incident is another reminder of gun violence tearing communities apart.”
" What should have been a joyous back-to-school season in Winder, Georgia, has now turned into another horrific reminder of how gun violence continues to tear our communities apart", stated president Biden. He further added that, “we cannot continue to accept this as normal”
'We Have to End This Epidemic of Gun Violence': Kamala Harris
Vice President and Democratic Nominee Kamala Harris condemned the shooting and stated it a 'senseless tragedy' and stated further that “we have to end this epidemic of gun violence in our country”.
“We’re still gathering information about what happened, but we know that there were multiple fatalities and injuries, and our hearts are with all the students, the teachers and their families,” she said.
