Mexico City's Fine Arts Palace museum will reopen its doors on Tuesday presenting "The Paris of Modigliani and his contemporaries" exhibition after a five-month delay imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The exhibition explores the relationship between Italian Jewish artist Amedeo Modigliani and Mexico.

It also details his friendship with Mexican painters Diego Rivera and Ángel Zárraga, among others, in the bohemian scene of Paris at the beginning of the 20th century.
Curated by Marc Restellini and Jaime Moreno Villareal, it includes what is perhaps Modigliani's most famous painting "Fillette en bleu" ("Little girl in blue") from 1918.

Held to commemorate the centenary of the painter's death, the exhibition was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It's the first exhibition in the museum that implements new security protocols aimed at preventing the spread of the virus.

Director of Mexico City's Fine Arts Palace museum Miguel Fernández Félix said in a press conference that the new protocols are "a challenge for all museums".
