Members of Spain's military emergency unit are helping with disinfection tasks, even using drones to warn people to remain home, as part of efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The Spanish military is disinfecting hospitals, streets, main transportation facilities and care homes.
Spain has reported its lowest daily death count in nearly three weeks after 510 people died with the new coronavirus between Friday and Saturday.
That is down from a national high of 950 fatalities reported on April 2.
Spain has confirmed more than 163,000 infections and 16,606 deaths since the beginning of the outbreak, making it and Italy the hardest-hit countries in Europe.
Over 59,000 Spaniards have recovered from the virus.
For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.
For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
The new coronavirus has caused a global pandemic that has sickened over 1.7 million, killed over 108,000 worldwide, crippled economies and forced restrictions on the movement of millions of people in an effort to stop the virus from spreading further and overwhelming health care systems.
A month-long national lockdown has helped Spain slow the daily increase in the numbers of infected people from over 20% two weeks ago to 3%.
