A Sierra Leone minister started a conversation around gender roles after joining a Zoom meeting with his 10-month-old daughter. Last month, David Moinina Sengeh shared a photo of his daughter tied to his back on Twitter and it has now taken internet by storm. In post, he also invited ors to share with world how y worked from home as a leer. 

Sengeh has now become ‘d goals’ as his post has received more than 7,000 likes. While speaking to an international media outlet, Sierra Leone minister said that he wanted to set an example for or men by sharing photograph. He reportedly ded that many women do this daily, however, it has been so normalised that world no longer talks about it at all. He also said that if his wife h done same thing, but tweet wouldn’t have gone viral.

While speaking to media outlet, Sengeh, who is education minister of Sierra Leone, explained that it was rare to see a child on its far’s back in West African country, but sight of a woman carrying a baby on her back would be taken as normal. With several fars sharing ir own pictures with ir baby, internet users appreciated minister’s post and praised him for raising issue of gender roles.

Sengeh 'inspires hope' 

While one Twitter user wrote, “This is great! I think we men in SL should not only be fars by name but should contribute to daily upbringing of our kids. It's fascinating seeing a minister displaying equality!!! I look forward to having my own kids and sharing ir daily lives”. Anor user said, “I commend your practical & sensible approach during se trying times. As usual, please remain focus & be mindful that your Ministry & innovation, is key to project Sierra Leone to higher heights. Stay Safe & Stay home”.
