Miss World 2021 postponed after contestants, including India's Manasa Varanasi, get COVID

Miss World 2021 finale had to be postponed after staff, crew and contestants test positive for COVID-19. The finale will be scheduled again within next 90 days.

much-awaited finale of beauty pant Miss World 2021 has been postponed due to a COVID-19 cases amongst contestants. finale was originally scheduled to take place on December 16, 2021, in Puerto Rico. However, organisers had to postpone global broadcast finale due to safety interests of its staff and contestants. 

Reportedly, 17 people, including contestants and crew of organisations contracted coronavirus. se contestants also include Miss India 2020 Manasa Varanasi, who has been representing country at pant. Moreover, Manasa even reached top 10 of contest. After big win of Harnaaz Sandhu at Miss Universe 2021, Indians were eyeing Manasa for bringing ar crown back home.

Miss World 2021 postponed

Miss World Organisation anunced news of COVID-19 outbreak which led to postponement of show. organisation released an official statement via ir social media.

statement read, "Miss World 2021 temporarily postpones global broadcast finale in Puerto Rico due to health and safety interest of contestants, staff, crew and general public." statement furr mentioned finale will take place within 90 days after organisers had a talk with medical team. y wrote, " After meeting with virologists and medical experts hired to oversee Miss World 2021 event and discussing with Puerto Rico Health Department, decision has been made by organizers of event to postpone globally broadcast finale at Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot to be held within next 90 days."

organisers implemented additional safety measures after COVID-19 outbreak. y took decision of postponing finale after additional cases were confirmed. Explaining ir safety measure, organisers wrote, " next step according to medical experts is immediate quarantine, pending observation and furr testing according to best practices in situations like this." organisation furr ensure contestants and staff will return to ir home countries only when y are cleared by ir health officials and advisors. y ended release with CEO, Julia Moley's statement, that read, “We are very much looking forward to return of our contestants, (who we have grown to kw and love), to compete for Miss World crown.”
