Massive explosions rocked Leban's capital Beirut on Tuesday, August 4, damaging buildings and wounding hundreds of people as a giant cloud of smoke rose above city.
Leban’s Prime Minister Hassan Diab stated that 2,700 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored at a warehouse near Beirut port exploded in huge blast that killed at more than 70 people and injured over 3,000 in Lebanese capital.

A short clip of explosion shows a huge ball of fire rising from ground and blowing up buildings and establishments in area. Ims of blast show orange-coloured clouds over port, hinting at nitrate compound combustion. Miles from scene of blast, balconies were kcked down, ceilings collapsed and windows were shattered.

Beirut hospitals quickly filled beyond capacity and launched a plea for blood supplies and generators to keep lights on. Witnesses saw many people injured by flying glass and debris.

PM's hequarters and Baa Palace ( residence of president), are among table buildings in capital that suffered massive dams. Leers from around world poured in ir sympathies for victims of blast while extending support to Leban government.
As per reports, Lebanese Prime Minister called tragic incident a 'major national disaster' and me an urgent appeal to friendly nations to stand by country.
