1. Annual Budget Around $10 Billion

Mossad was founded on December 13, 1949, following a recommendation by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion to Reuven Shiloah. Until 1996, the identity of Mossad's head was kept confidential. In the 1990s, Aliza Magen-Halevi became the highest-ranking woman in Mossad’s history, serving as deputy director under Shabtai Shavit and Danny Yatom. Born in 1937, she was sent to Austria in the 1960s to recruit a German scientist working for Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser. She later took part in Operation Wrath of God.
