Netherlands government bans flights from UK after detection of new COVID-19 strain

After UK reported a new COVID-19 strain, the Dutch government on Saturday banned flights coming from the UK into the Netherlands until at least Jan 1, 2021.

Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM) after reviewing travel visories for people arriving in Nerlands from UK has decided to ban flights from  United Kingdom to Nerlands. According to  Nerlands government website, this order will be in force from December 20 at 6:00 am until January 1, 2021. se orders were released by Dutch government after UK reported a contagious new COVID-19 strain, which is thought to spre more easily and more quickly and is also harder to detect.

order on Nerlands government website res, "At 06.00 local time on 20 December a ban on flights carrying passengers from United Kingdom will enter into force. This ban will remain in place until 1 January 2021 at latest."

Nerland bans flights from UK

Stating furr information about recent ban on flights from UK due to a new COVID-19 strain, website stated that Dutch government is closely monitoring developments abro with regard to pandemic. It also said, " government is considering ditional measures regarding or modes of transport." It also ded that over next few days, Nerlands along with or European Union member states will explore scope for furr limiting risk of New COVID-19 strain being brought over from United Kingdom.

A letter regarding this travel ban has been sent to UK House of Representatives on Saturday evening, re government website. Warning people to be cautious, website said, " government wishes to emphasise once again that travelling abro carries a substantial risk of spreing Coronavirus. Do t travel unless it is absolutely essential." Since outbreak of COVID-19, Nerlands has recorded over 6,76,673 positive cases, out of which 10,459 have died.
