North Korea says no need of talks with US ahead of envoy's visit to South Korea

North Korea does not feel the need to have talks with the United States because negotiations between Pyongyang and Washington will not work, said Son Hui.

Choe Son Hui said that rth Korea does t feel need to have talks with United States because negotiations between Pyongyang and Washington will t work and latter will use it as a political tool. Son Hui furr said that re will be change in rth Korea's policy.

"We do t feel any need to sit face to face with U.S., as it does t consider DPRK-U.S. dialogue as thing more than a tool for grappling its political crisis," Son Hui was quoted as saying by KCNA, rth Korea's state-run news ncy. United States wants rth Korea to denuclearize mselves, while Pyongyang wants Washington to lift all sanctions imposed on DPRK in fast few years.

US envoy's visit

US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun is scheduled to visit South Korea next week, reportedly to restart stalled diplomatic talks with rth Korea. South Korean President Moon Jae-in on July 1 said that his US counterpart Donald Trump and rth Korean Supreme Leer should meet again before upcoming elections in United States, which is scheduled for vember this year. Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump h met for first time at a historic summit in Singapore in June 2018.
