Official: Roadside explosion kills 8 civilians in Afghanistan
An Afghan official said that a roadside explosion has killed at least eight civilians and injured six other people in northern Baghlan province on November 4.

Provincial police chief's spokesperson Jawed Basharat has said that six or people have been wounded in attacks in Dand Shabuddin area on outskirts of Puli Khumri which is provincial capital of Baghlan.

Taliban tend to have a strong presence in area
Basharat said that casualties include women and children. It is believed that area of explosion is under Taliban control and group has so far claimed responsibility for attack. Taliban tend to have a strong presence in area and generally targets Afghan security forces in and around Puli Khumri which results in killing of a huge number of civilians in attacks. insurgents attacked Puli Khumri and encroached city's main highway to Kabul for more than a week in September. Over half of Afghanistan is controlled by Taliban today.

Sat blamed Taliban group whose presence is active in Takhar province particularly in Darq district where attack took place.
