Ahead of book release, Malala Yousafzai engages in backstage banter with comedian Trevor Noah before her appearance on 'The Daily Show'

Malala  Yousafzai, the world's youngest Noble laureate appeared on an episode of an American satirical news program 'The Daily Show', hosted by renowned comedian Trevor Noah. 

The activist before the episode, poked some fun with the host as she tweeted a picture of her waiting for Noah with his book 'Born a crime' wrapped in her arms. 

Malala in her tweet wrote, "Why is this man Trevor late?” to which the comedian responded that he was "nervous", asking the activist to come to say hi.

The repartee between the two continued when Malala shared a picture of them finally meeting, as she tweeted, "excuses, excuses", posing with a muddled Noah

Behind the banter, Malala was at the show to speak about her new book about refugees titled 'We are Displaced', that are known to hit the shelves in India on January 9. 

Through her words, she made an attempt to amplify the voices of refugee girls around the world. 

In a press communique, publishers Weidenfeld & Nicolson and Hachette India said that Malala's travels through the refugee camps induced her to retrospect her own displacement.

"In We are Displaced, which is part memoir, part communal storytelling, Malala not only explores her own story of adjusting to a new life while longing for home, but she also shares the personal stories of some of the incredible girls she has met on her various journeys - girls who have lost their community, relatives and often the only world they've ever known," the communique added.
