Asian Development Bank to provide $6 billion to Pakistan over three-year period
The Asian Development Bank is set to provide Pakistan with US$6 billion over a three-year period as the country’s economy continues to face challenges.

Asian Development Bank (B) is set to provide Pakistan with US$6 billion over a period of three years as country’s economy continues to tackle challenges, reported Samaa TV. announcement was reportedly me by country director of B, Yong Ye who called on Pakistan’s Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin on October 1. Pakistan minister also said that Imran Khan-led government was devoted to pursuing inclusive, efficient and sustainable economic growth.
As per Samaa TV, Tarin has told B director that Pakistan’s reform in power sector, as well as efforts to boost revenue collection, h started giving positive results. Pakistan’s finance minister said that Economic visory Council h put toger recommendations to bring about structural reforms in at least 14 sectors of country’s economy. As per report, he also ded that short, medium and long-term plans h been devised to achieve same objective.

PML-N prez slams PTI over plunging economy
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leer of Opposition Shehbaz Sharif lambasted ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government over plunging economy of country. As per ANI, Sharif said that PTI has drowned economy under debts. He even lashed out at Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan government over “unprecedented level” of inflation in Pakistan.
According to PML-N president, in its tenure of three years, PTI was unable to build a “single penny” project. While dressing a National assembly session in Islamab, Sharif said, “Five million people have been rendered unemployed by incumbent government, it has become impossible for poor to afford two square meals a day.” Meanwhile, B in September h projected Pakistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth to reach 4% in fiscal year 2021-22 as businesses grually resumed in second year of COVID-19 pandemic, reported Dawn.
