The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday has announced anti-government protests across Pakistan to “restore ‘real’ democracy in Pakistan”, as per reports. He also said that the incumbent Pakistan government had lost its credibility, as they did not fulfill any of their electoral promises, as per reports. Bilawal Bhutto was addressing a party rally in Karachi.

Addressing the people Bilawal said, “Our demand is to restore democracy in Pakistan. We don’t accept this artificial democracy… the democratic and socio-economic rights of the masses shall be restored… and for that Imran Khan has to resign.”

According to reports, Bilawal said that all opposition parties had decided that the government must step down. He said that the PPP will protest in Thar on October 23, demonstrate in Kashmore on October 26 whereas rallies in Pakistan's Punjab will begin from November 1.

“Our anti-government movement has started from Karachi. We will tour the entire country and when we return from Pakistan occupied Kashmir, Imran Khan will have to go…We will expose your incompetence in every nook and corner of the country.”

The PPP chairman said that his party had always played a constructive role for the supremacy of Parliament but to no avail, as per reports. “Imran Khan neither has the capability nor seriousness to govern a country of 200 million people,” he said adding, “Parliament has been side-lined and politicians have taken to the streets.”

'PS-11 by-polls rigged'

Earlier, Bilawal had announced challenging the result of PS-11 Larkana by-polls, where the party suffered a defeat at the hands of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA). The PPP leader said the 2018 elections in Pakistan were massively rigged and even banned outfits were allowed to contest the polls, as per reports. “We don’t want our institutions to be controversial but when army personnel is deployed inside polling stations, their credibility will be questioned,” he said.
