Sindh – Weeks after Pakistani conducted its highly anticipated General Elections, Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Murad Ali Shah was elected as the Chief Minister of Sindh for the third consecutive time. Shah's victory came hours after Former Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz became the first female Chief Minister of the Punjab province. According to Pakistani news outlet Geo News, the election for the province's chief executive commenced after a half-an-hour delay. The ballot paper was set up with those supporting PPP's Shah and MQMP's Khurshidi being asked to go to the right and left side of the assembly hall.
According to the Pakistani news outlet, Murad received 112 votes to become the 25th chief minister of the Pakistani province. Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement–Pakistan's (MQM-P) Ali Khurshidi got only 36 votes in favour of his candidature. Before getting elected to the office, Shah served as the Sindh Chief Minister twice, i.e. from 2016 to 2018 and then from 2018 to 2023. Shah's opponent Khurshidi served as a member of the provincial assembly for the MQM-P from 2018 to 2023 and was elected once again from PS-119 (West IV), with 22,424 votes, Geo News reported.

Shah was born on August 11, 1962, in Karachi and completed his high school at St Patrick's High School, in 1977.
