Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on March 22 ruled out complete lockdown in country, saying it will create chaos and urged people to self-quarantine to curb spre of coronavirus, which has so far claimed four lives and infected 646 people in country. dressing nation as cases of vel coronavirus surged across country, Imran Khan reiterated that lockdown will create chaos as more than 25% of people were living below poverty line and ir lives will be shattered. He said situation in Pakistan does t call for a lockdown yet.
“Let me first tell you what a complete lockdown is. It means imposing a curfew and locking people in ir homes,” said Imran Khan. We cant afford complete lockdown as it will create massive unrest, he said, ding that situation in country is t as b as in Italy or France. If condition was similar to that of Italy, I would have imposed a lockdown, he said.

He urged people to follow policy of self-isolation and stay inside ir homes. He said government was constantly watching situation and all necessary measures will be taken accordingly. government on March 21 suspended all international flights for two weeks and curtailed train services to curb spre of virus, which has turned into a major global crisis. Official data issued by National Disaster Manment Authority showed at least 646 confirmed coronavirus cases.
Pak Army to assist amid COVID-19
Pakistan's Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) on Sunday held a special review meeting in wake of Coronavirus. Taking to Twitter, Spokesperson of Pakistan Armed Forces, Major General Babar Iftikhar stated that high-level meeting was done via video link. According to him, COAS planned and reviewed Army's reiness to assist people of country amid Pandemic. Furr, he stated that Pakistani Army and medical resources have been trained to assist people.
