Conveniently placing the blame on the shoulders of Donald Trump, Pakistan Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Thursday whipping another narrative, now claimed that the US President is "deceiving" both India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. 

Talking to reporters in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Minister also claimed that the Kashmir issue, which has been a conflict between India and Pakistan for over seven decades, would be resolved during the tenures of Pakistan PM Imran Khan and Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

"A group is making propaganda that whatever happened in Kashmir is part of a master plan. Let me tell you Trump plays on both sides. He is deceiving both India and Pakistan," said the minister, who is known for making outlandish remarks.

During his meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Khan at the White House on July 22, President Donald Trump had offered to be the "mediator" between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.

Donald Trump Mediation on Kashmir

After offering to mediate between the heads of India and Pakistan on multiple occasions, Donald Trump on August 26 decided to back off, after admitting New Delhi's stance over mediation with Islamabad.

US President Donald Trump said, "We spoke last night about Kashmir, Prime Minister really feels he has it under control. They speak with Pakistan and I'm sure that they will be able to do something that will be very good."

US President Donald Trump has been going back and forth with his claims on Kashmir and even triggered massive furore after claiming that he has been asked by PM Modi to mediate the Kashmir issue during Pakistan PM Imran Khan's visit to Washington on July 22.

“If I can help, I would love to be a mediator,” Donald Trump had said on Imran Khan's insistence to meddle in India's internal matter. The claim was categorically dismissed by the MEA, saying that no such request has been made and that New Delhi would resolve the issue with Islamabad bilaterally. 

Article 370

On August 5, PM Modi led government abrogated Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir stripping the state off the special status and bifurcated the state into two union territories of- Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. 

Ever since, Imran Khan has been attempting to make Kashmir an international issue, fearmongering over New Delhi's treatment of Kashmiris following the communication lockdown, and alleging a probable attempt of "ethnic cleansing." However, in response, the international community has not only looked Pakistan's foul cries over Kashmir but also stated that it is a bilateral issue between New Delhi and Islamabad.
