Pakistan plans to send its first astronaut to by 2022 with help of its close ally, China, with selection process likely to begin in 2020, revealed Federal Minister for Science and Techlogy, Chaudhry Faw Hussain to a foreign media group, on Sunday. China, its all-wear ally is expected to collaborate with Pakistan in its mission, Faw was quoted as saying as per media reports.

Elaborating on programme, he said, initially, 50 individuals would be selected after which list will be shortened to 25 in 2022. And out of m only one will be sent to . Pakistan Air Force would play an important role in selection process of astronaut, report said.
He said collaboration of Pakistan and India in fields of science and techlogy could prove fruitful for region. Faw said Pakistan was second in Asia after n Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), which h sent its rocket into in 1963.

Pakistan Science Education Center was playing an important role in promotion of sciences in country, he ded. Last year, Pakistan launched two indigeusly-built satellites into orbit, using a Chinese launch vehicle.

satellites were launched onboard Chinese Long March (LM-2C) rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre located at Gobi desert in China, Express Tribune h reported. One of m was a remote sensing satellite (PRSS1) a dual-purpose Earth observational and optical satellite.
second test satellite launched was a PAK-TES-1A to enhance satellite manufacture capabilities in country.
