Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan admitted that his country had failed in its attempts to raise the Kashmir issue on the international platform in the aftermath of abrogation of Article 370 by the Indian government. Speaking at a press briefing in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Imran Khan expressed disappointed with the international community, after he was repeatedly rebuffed over its foul cry over J&K.

"(I am) Disappointed by the international community. If eight million Europeans or Jews or even eight Americans were put under siege, would the reaction have been the same? There's no pressure yet on Modi to lift the siege. We'll keep putting the pressure," Imran Khan stated as per news agency ANI.

While Pakistan had made several attempts to gain the attention of international community towards its false narrative of situation in Jammu and Kashmir, many countries have extended support to India over its abrogations of special status to J&K. On being questioned as to why Pakistan is being overlooked on its Kashmir narrative, Imran Khan went on to acknowledge India's stature and prominence in the global economy.

Pakistan Interior Minister admits failure

Imran Khan's admission in the Jammu and Kashmir matter has come days after his Interior Minister Brig. Ijaz Ahmed Shah admitted that Pakistan has failed to gain support from the international community for its stance on the Kashmir issue. While speaking to a Pakistani news channel, the minister had said that none of the global powers believed Pakistan's claims on the ground situation of Kashmir. He went onto assert that people think that 'Pakistan is not a serious nation.'

"People do not believe us in the international community. People do not believe us but they believe them (India). The ruling elite has destroyed the country. People think we are not a serious nation," he said, calling for Pakistan to do some soul searching.

Imran Khan and Kashmir

Pakistan PM Imran Khan has repeatedly meddled into Kashmir issue, fearmongering and peddling fake news on the ground situation in the Valley. However, he faced defeat on an international scale after he called for global mediation into the bilateral issue. India, on several occasions, has also cleared its stand at the global platform maintaining that Kashmir remains an internal matter of Kashmir, refusing international intervention on the matter.
