The Kashmir debate on an international platform

The Kashmir debate has spilled itself on to various international platforms including UNHRC. The Pakistani delegation led by its Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi submitted an 118-page-dossier against India citing many mainstream Indian leaders remark on the abrogation of Article 370. The dossier also consisted of names of Kashmiris allegedly killed by the Indian army. In response to the scathing dossier by Pakistan, India's first secretary, MEA Vimarsh Aryan made a thunderous speech exposing Pak piece by piece on its human rights violation. Calling Pak's remark as hysteric, Indian diplomat said that India's action has stopped the country from spreading cross-border terrorism and that is the major reason they are concerned.

Article 370 abrogated

On August 5, India abrogated Article 370 of its Constitution that provided special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir and also defined the permanent citizens of the state. As Indian Parliament abrogated Article 370, Pakistan claimed that it is unleashing atrocity on the people of Kashmir and immediately expelled India's ambassador to Pakistan and downgraded diplomatic ties. In a series of measures to create disbalance in the situation in Kashmir and to create a ripple in the international community regarding the situation, Imran Khan and his ministers peddled fake news, wrote a letter to United Nations (UN), etc. Imran Khan also went to the extent of declaring himself as the ambassador of Kashmir and vowed to observe 'Kashmir Hour' by literally 'standing' in solidarity with the people of Kashmir. The Indian government, on the other hand, has put a communication blockage in Kashmir and has introduced a number of schemes citing welfare Kashmir. They have also put the mainstream leaders into preventive custody to avoid any situation that incites violence.
