'India planning another attack against Pakistan,' says Pak PM Imran Khan's minister Mahmood Qureshi citing 'reliable intelligence'

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's Cabinet Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi citing definitive intelligence has stated that New Delhi is plotting another 'military action' against Pakistan between April 16 to 20, according to a media report. 

In a press conference in Multan, Pakistan's Foreign Minister said that Pakistan has "reliable intelligence that India is devising a new plan," a Pakistani news outlet reported. 

"Preparations are being made, and there are chances of another attack against Pakistan. According to our information, the action could be taken between April 16-20," the paper quoted Qureshi as saying.

"A new mishap could be staged...And its purpose will be to justify their (India's) offensive against Pakistan and to increase diplomatic pressure against Islamabad," he alleged. 

He added, "If it happens, you can imagine the impact of the occurrence on the peace and stability of the region."

Subsequent to the 'reliable' input, a frightened Pakistan approached the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to acquaint its permanent members over the issue and stated Pakistan's apprehensions. 

The Pakistani Minister who in the past accepted on two international news outlets that Pakistan leadership is in touch with terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed and aware of the whereabouts of its founder Masood Azhar, said that Pakistan wants the international community to acknowledge the 'irresponsible' behaviour of India.

He said, "We want the international community to take notice of this irresponsible behaviour and reprimand them [India] for taking this route."

Pakistan on Tuesday urged the United States to play its role to resume dialogue with India and resolve all outstanding issues, amid tensions in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, followed by an air strike by Indian air force on Jaish-e-Mohammad training camp in Balakot.

Tensions flared up between the bitter neighbours following the ghastly Pulwama attack on February 14, that was perpetratrated by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit, that martyred 40 CRPF Jawans.

Amid mounting outrage, the IAF conducted counter-terror strikes, by hitting Masood Azhar's Jaish-e-Mohammed camps in Pakistan's Balakot on February 26. The next day, Pakistan Air Force retaliated to the counter-terror operation by attempting to attack India's military installations, downing MiG-21 in an ariel dogfight, and capturing Wing Commander Abhinandan, who was handed over to India on March 1.
