Maleeha Lodhi not 'removed', says Pak days after she was replaced

After Maleeha Lodhi was replaced as Pak's permanent envoy to the UN, Pakistan Foreign Ministry, on Friday has said that she was not 'removed' from her post

Days after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan replaced Maleeha Lodhi as Permanent Representative to United Nations in New York with Munir Akram, Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has reacted to development. Spokesperson of Foreign Ministry of Pakistan, Mohamm Faisal on Friday said that Maleeha Lodhi was t ‘removed’ from her post and she left after completing her tenure.

Taking to Twitter, Mohamm Faisal tweeted that re is truth in insinuations that Maleeha Lodhi was removed for any reasons. He said that she completed her tenure and as FM of Pakistan said that she served Pakistan with distinction and commitment and organised Imran Khan’s successful visit to UNGA with skill and dedication.

Lodhi was replaced within two days of Imran's UNGA visit 

However, it is kwn that Lodhi was removed two days after Imran Khan returned to Pakistan wrapping up his US visit, where he dressed 74th Session of United Nations General Assembly. According to reports, Imran Khan was disappointed with results of his visit as he failed to internationalise Kashmir issue on global st. Pakistan Prime Minister, in his UNGA dress, exceed time limit of 15 minutes and more than half of his speech was based on attacking India over revocation of Article 370.

Munir Akram's lacklustre reputation

Maleeha Lodhi held office of Pakistan's envoy to UN since February 2015. Munir Akram h served as Pakistan's permanent representative to UN for six years between 2002 and 2008. Akram replaced Lodhi with a tarnished reputation though, with office of United States Secretary of State, in 2003, asking Pakistan Government to withdraw his diplomatic immunity after he pushed he of his n-girlfriend against a wall during a fight with her. He mand to continue his position until 2008. Akram is kwn for his loud and hard anti-India stand.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan also me or changes to Ambassors to or countries. Khalil Ahm Hashmi has been me appointed Permanent Representative of Pakistan to United Nations in Geneva. Pakistan Government has shuffled ambassors in Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Banglesh, Oman, Hungary, Toronto and Hungary.
