Former Pak PM Nawaz Sharif likely to leave for London to seek better treatment

A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader informed the local media that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will probably leave for London for treatment

As informed by a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, a local media report suggested that Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will probably leave for London for better treatment. PML-N Punjab spokesperson Azma Bukhari told local media, "An air ambulance has been booked by Hussain [Nawaz's son] that will arrive in Lahore on Tuesday and subject to permission of his doctors, Nawaz will leave for London on the same day.

Nawaz Sharif suffering from multiple disorders

The spokesperson further informed, "His brother Shehbaz Sharif and Dr. Adnan Khan are accompanying him as per the existing understanding. It will be decided on Sunday as to who else could also fly with Nawaz." She said that Nawaz Sharif is currently being treated by the doctors and is under observation. He has been diagnosed with multiple conditions which include diabetes, blood pressure and has been diagnosed with critical Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), which makes the patient unfit to take the flight.

Sharif's travel schedule requires Doctor's approval

She told the local media that Nawaz Sharif has been put on heavy medication, he was given a heavy dose of steroids which has caused inflammation in his body. He further lost his platelet count on November 15. She did not give much information regarding the tests and treatments. She added that Sharif will be able to travel only after Doctor’s approval. She said that Nawaz was admitted to the hospital last week after his personal physician raised concerns regarding his deteriorating health. His platelet count has dropped significantly and the doctors are unable to bring them back to normal.

Sharif likely to leave for London after 48 hours of supervision

Nawaz Sharif was expected to leave for London on Tuesday morning after his travel schedule is approved by the doctors. The first stop will be made in Qatar or Dubai as it is not permissible for him to travel for more than five hours at a stretch. PML-N Secretary Information also prayed for his fast recovery. She said that the preparations are on their way to take Nawaz Sharif for his treatment to London, however, the Doctors require at least 48 hours to keep him under supervision, boost his platelet count and avoid any cardiovascular complications during his travel
