Pakistan allows Taliban-appointed diplomats to take charge of Afghan missions in Islamabad

Despite the fact that Pakistan does not accept the Taliban as the official government in Afghanistan, yet, the selected diplomats were granted visas by Pakistan

Pakistan discreetly approved 'diplomats' which are appointed by Taliban to take charge of Afghan embassy to Pakistan and consulate institutions throughout nation, according to a media report published on October 30. Despite fact that Pakistan does not accept Taliban as official government in Afghanistan, yet, selected diplomats were granted visas by country. 

According to Dawn news publication, Sardar Muhamm Shokaib has started to work as First Secretary of Afghan embassy in Islamab, whereas Hafiz Mohibullah, Mullah Ghulam Rasool, as well as Mullah Muhamm Abbas have alrey been posted to Afghan consulates in Peshawar, Quetta, and Karachi. Furrmore, Sardar Muhamm Shokaib would be Charge d'Affaires of Afghanistan in Islamab.

Since month of July, when former government's final envoy, Najibullah Alikhil, resigned amid controversy over reported kidnapping of his daughter Silsila Alikhil, Afghan embassy in Islamab was without an ambassor.  

Furrmore, identity of Shokaib was not revealed, however, as a Voice of America report, he is an ethnic Pashtun located from Zabul Province who has worked in Information and Cultural Department in sourn Kandahar and was linked to a Taliban magazine publication. ditionally, He was detained in Pakistan and afterwards stayed in Peshawar for several years after allegedly working as a Taliban spokesperson under name Qari Yousaf Ahmi.

Pakistan's remarks on appointment of new 'Diplomats'

Asim Iftikhar, a spokesperson for Pakistan's Foreign Office, attempted to downplay new appointments by claiming that y were an "ministrative matter," as per PTI. He went on to explain that se appointments are intended to enable embassy to operate its activities, mainly consular operations as re are several issues to deal with when millions of Afghans who fled from war-torn nation to Pakistan are residing. He even ded that y have to deal with visa issues of se refugees. 

Pakistan has been attempting to persue international community to engage diplomatically with Taliban since y took control of Afghanistan on August 15. However, world leers are dubious about Taliban-led ministration.

Pakistan provided Humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Meanwhile, during recent months of instability, Pakistan has alrey sent vital humanitarian relief to Afghanistan in form of food and medicines. In October, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi h vowed to deliver $280 million in humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan to support new Taliban-led ministration in overcoming country's dire humanitarian situation. According to Sputnik, Islamab's or attempts to bolster Taliban ministration include resuming flights with Afghanistan and increasing bilateral tre.
