one-of-its-kind incident took place in Rahim Yar Khan region of Punjab province over last weekend. provincial police h n apprehended eight men accused of gambling on outcomes of a donkey race and in doing so, y h arrested donkey too.

donkey, which found its name in FIR, and its handlers were reportedly in possession of 120,000 Pakistan Rupees in cash. Speaking to media, police officials h n said that suspects were using money to bet on a donkey race. cops also ded that all suspects, including animal, were arrested on basis of ‘prevention of gambling ordinance’ ding that investigations were underway.

Exporting donkeys to China
donkey's arrest comes at a time when beast of burden is unprecedentedly important to Imran Khan government. Export of donkeys to China for ir barbaric use in tritional Chinese medicine is somewhat of a 'cash crop' in Pakistan; however, its efforts to meet China's demand has proved unsustainable as donkey population has steily dwindled in country.
However, as per latest reports, re has been a recent rebound in population, and as a result, news channels were seen holding celebratory debates amid Pakistan's perennial debt woes.

'Spy pigeon' nabbed
Last month, in ar bizarre case albeit in a devious and heius sphere of activity, a suspected spy pigeon from Pakistan was captured along International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua. pigeon, carrying a "coded mess", was captured by residents of Manyari vill in Hiranagar sector soon after it flew into India's side from Pakistan. Locals captured it and alerted security officials about same.

Security ncies suspect pigeon might be carrying coded messs that were meant to reach handlers of Pakistani-backed operatives in region. Earlier too, Pakistani nts have used such tactics to eve Indian attention and sent across messs on this side of border to initiate infiltration bids.
