On his three-country visit to strengthen diplomatic ties, crown prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman found himself amid an extravagant welcome in Pakistan.
On his two-day visit, crown prince agreed to sign investment deals worth $20 billion to aid the Islamic nation to overcome the financial doom.
Arriving a day later than he had originally scheduled, the crown prince was personally welcomed by Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and was given a glorious red-carpet welcome with 21-gun salute. A formation of JF-17 thunder jets and F-16 fighter jets escorted the plane of the Saudi royal after its entry into the Pakistani airspace.
Moreover, Imran Khan was so enthralled to have the crown prince, that he himself chauffered him to his official residence on arrival.
The photograph of the Pakistan prime minister driving MbS around started doing the rounds of social media, and Twitter had a lot to say:
The Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman began his South Asia tour from Pakistan and will commence on his two-day visit to India on Tuesday.
During his visit, India is likely to raise the issue of state-sponsored terrorism by Pakistan with the crown prince, as the two countries will look forward to enhancing defense ties, including having a joint naval exercise.
The Crown Prince is expected to travel to China from India after a huge diplomatic crisis following the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
