Pakistan PM Imran Khan makes 'Japanese religion' reference to World War 2 kamikaze attacks at OIC, netizens call it bizarre

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in news previously for his distorted knowledge of geography, however, now at the Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) he has depicted his lack of understanding in history too.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in news previously for his distorted knowledge of geography, however, now at the Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) he has depicted his lack of understanding in history too. 

Speaking at the OIC, Khan brought to attention the phenomenon of 'Islamophobia' and accused the West for it, furthermore he stated that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism. While doing so, the crickter-turned-politician gave an example of Kamikaze of Japan in the Second World War and said how no one blamed the "Japenese religion" for it.

The absurd correspondence fetched him flak considering there is no such thing as 'Japenese religion' but Shinto and Buddhism are Japan's two major religions.

Secondly, social media schooled Khan with some history lessons reminding him how the United States dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in retaliation to Japanese Kamikaze raids. The nuclear attack vaporised 70,000 Japanese citizens instantly, in years to follow over 100,000 lost their lives from radiation sickness and burns.

The leaders of the Islamic state discussed in depths the critical including tensions with Iran, Palestinian statehood, rising Islamophobia and Rohingya refugees at the Summit.

Back in April, Imran Khan's University of Oxford education is being put to test after the Pakistani Prime Minister uttered that Germany and Japan share a border.

Misspeaking during a joint press conference with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on his international visit to their neighbour Iran, in a viral video, Khan stated that the Asian country Japan shares a border with the European nation Germany. 

Elaborating on how both nations enhanced their economic ties following World War II, he said,  "On the border region of Germany and Japan, they had joint industries."
